Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall in Laughlin
Reviews of this Property
Every time I go to Laughlin I always spend most of my time at the frontier because of the relaxed atmosphier and friendly workers, I play mostly roulette and have always done my best at the Frontier. I mostly spend my time in a Motor home , because it hard to find a great deal at a Hotel.Maybe you can give me an offer I cant refuse?

The Best We've Found in Laughlin
The Pioneer is the best we've found in Laughlin. We've tried them all, and now we are Pioneer fans for life. You don't get the quiet, low key, family feeling surroundings anywhere else is Laughlin. I don't know about you, but when I leave Southern California for Nevada, I'm not looking for crowds or rude people. The staff (all of them, from the Bosses, to the Maintenance personnel) are friendly, courteous and professional. If you want the Vegas experience, go to Vegas.

Because of the reviews on this site I almost didn't stay at THE PIONEER HOTEL but I couldn't pass up the room rate of 49.99 a night.... Every other hotel on this weekend was over 90.00 for Saturday night..... People that are looking for the HILTON HOTEL should not even look at staying at this hotel but anyone looking for a Holiday INN style hotel this place is great...... Staff is really friendly here and keep you laughing the whole time..... Casino is small but great for winnings..... I lost...lol... Food/Buffet was good food at a great price...I had the best 4.00 Breakfast I've ever had.... And a great 9.00 buffet......Rooms are clean and quiet enough to sleep in.... Hotel is older and a little run down but only time you spend in hotel is when your sleeping or taking a shower so does it really matter...???? I will be back to Laughlin and I will stay at the PIONEER HOTEL again.............. Picky people just need to check out the EDGE WATER HOTEL OR MAYBE THE GOLDEN NUGGET ......

I've never been to Laughlin, but after reading the reviews of all the hotels in town I think I'll reconsider any plans to go there. It sounds like every hotel sucks.

We were driving to yuma and stopped here by mistake. The rooms smelled like New Jersey. The food was terrible and the portions were small. Otherwise, the place was okay.

This was the best hotel. Great maid service. Best Buffet since they remodeled it. Great River walk. River Rick is so cool. Rooms don't really look bad. They usually have cute pictures inside them. Cozzy rooms. Also nice size hotel. Cheep! Pool is nice size, perfect temperature. That is the hotel that I have stayed at in the last five years,. Pioneer thank you for the wonderful service and Great buffet.
Ps: My brother submited the review below.

Rudely awakened at 5AM by hotel security claiming that I had an unauthorized pet in the room. I argued that I did not and they insisted that they "saw me walking it". I had to let them in to prove it, waking up others in the room. They were rude and non-apologetic about it. This place is a bust!

I stayed at the Pioneer when I first moved to town. Having been to the one in Vegas, I was surprised at how bad the one in Laughlin is compared to the Vegas property. I arived off peak/off season and had no wait at the counter. The staff was friendly and the service was OK. They were nice enough to give me the lower rate on a river view room as they were not busy. The room was disgusting. The shower was unclean, and the caulk seams around the tub/shower were moldy and grimy. The furniture had cigarette burn marks, and this was the non smoking room.
The deck around the outside was dirty, and apeared to be in need of woodworking repair. I have since stayed at every casino in Laughlin, and it was by far the worst room I have seen in town!
On the plus side, the food was OK, but the lines to the buffett were pretty long. (long food lines seem to be the norm in Laughlin because of the day trippers-bus package people who get free meal tickets) The casino is pretty nice, and the dealers seem friendly.
For a good inexspensive room on the strip, try the Riverside, the Edgewater, or Ramada Express. If you have a car, a few miles down the road is the AVI indian casino with lots of new rooms, as well as a new theatre complex. If you want to spend a bit more for a room, The River Palms and Harrahs have the nicest rooms in town, followed by the Flamingo.

I read the reveiw about the smell in the rooms, well we stayed at the Pioneer in Dec. and saw alot of room renovations going on. We stayed in one of the rooms that was renovated and it was great plus they told us they were adding more non-smoking rooms. What good news. I will say this, I was in a non-smoking room and someone had somked in there before, I understand that some people are just not considerate and still smoke in a non-smoking room anyway.
I played and may have not won alot however they are games of chance and I take my changes by gambling. They didn't build casino's on loosers. If they had all loosers they would close there doors. So quit complaining that they tighten the machines on weekends, they can't do that legally. Wake up folks!
Thanks Pioneer for the service and for my games of chances!

In october we enjoyed our stay and will return again. Not fancy but good
prices and friendly people. The casino staff were helpful and they would
change video poker to double down , thats the only way I play.

I stayed there one night and wont be back, gambling was good, but the grounds were dirty, the breezeways between rooms smelled bad. normal check in time was moved from 3 to 4 pm without notice, and I had kids in the car waiting. The second time I stood in line for the room took 1.5 hrs. When I brought it up the desk clerk didnt see any problem with this, looking at me a shrugging.

Have stayed here many times. Used to be ok. Quality has gone w-a-y down hill. Hour wait in line. Told room not ready. Waited another hour to get room. They change check in time to fit their needs. Not friendly any more. Room smelled like perfumed covered smoke. Didn't inform us when making res. that the restraunt was closed. Too many other choices in Laughlin. What happened to customer service?? Won't be back.

I stayed at the Pioneer off-peak and secured a great rate (under $20). The rooms are not very good, but the staff is friendly and helpful. Just a place to stay, located near the main activity of The Colorado Belle and an easy walk to Edgewater, too. Not a great place for children, but in transit it is no big deal.
They had single-deck blackjack then. I hope that they still do because I will go back there soon and find out...
